Tilted Kilt Approaches Milestone
The tenth Tilted Kilt will open in Mesa, Arizona, in mid-March. Three partners, Jeff Strand, Larry Frank and Michael Vertanen, are in the process of renovating a building at the corner of Baseline and Gilbert Roads in the Southeast region of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Frank and Vertanen are former software entrepreneurs-turned-real estate developers and Strand is a former educator who has worked in the Tilted Kilt system for the past several months in preparation for managing the new pub.
“This will be the classiest sports pub in the east valley,” says Larry Frank, one of the three partners.
“We’re going to focus on providing not only a great pub, but we intend to offer the best service you can imagine,” Frank said. The Mesa/Gilbert Tilted Kilt brings the numbers of pubs in the valley to three.
Madison Pub In Final Get Ready Mode
Training crews from Tilted Kilt Headquarters are heading for Madison, Wisconsin this week to assist the crew of the newest pub in the chain as they get ready for an April 19th Opening. The Madison pub is the second one in Wisconsin, following the Green Bay location which opened in October of '07. Chuck Myers, CEO of the franchise chain Country Kitchens, is the franchisee in Madison.
The Madison pub is located on Gammon Place adjacent to the Old Towne Shopping Mall (formerly the Peppermill Bar & Grille.
“I was blown away by what I saw when I went to the Tilted Kilt over in Green Bay,” Myers says. “I loved the whole package, the girls and their great costumes, the décor, and the food. It’s very exciting.”
Myers, no stranger to franchising, says the concept is timeless. “The food was good, the girls and their outfits are classy, and everyone was having fun.”
