VICTORVILLE — The High Desert is one step closer to having its own Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery.
“The popular sports pub known for it burgers, wings, beer and “Kilt Girls” will occupy a vacant building on Mariposa Road that was once the home of Red Robin, which moved to the Mall of Victor Valley.
On Wednesday, electricians, cable installers, air conditioning crews and painters were working on the building.
The Celtic-themed restaurant has 100 locations in North America. News of its arrival in the Victor Valley was first reported by the Daily Press in April, when owner Jeremiah Ibrahim shared that the business was coming to the former Red Robin.
In August, Mike Wauhob, owner and architect of Omega Design Group in Victorville, said his company was commissioned to work on The Tilted Kilt project because of a previous working relationship with the owner.
“The property plans are all approved and the bidding for the project has gone out,” Wauhob said. “We’re excited about transforming the old building into The Tilted Kilt’s famous Celtic, Scottish, Irish and English pub theme.”
Wauhob said the plans include a total gutting of the structure, the addition of an indoor/outdoor seating area with an open wall and all the intricate work to transform the building into the Tilted Kilt brand.
Wauhob also said the owner has also commissioned the Omega Group to work on another Tilted Kilt in an “undisclosed location” somewhere in the Inland Empire.
The Tilted Kilt’s website says its concept centers around “beautiful servers in sexy plaid kilts and matching plaid bras.”
