In the six weeks the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery in Sterling Heights has been open, it’s become one of the surprise magnet spots in Macomb County.
On Friday, the Celtic-themed sports pub will celebrate its official grand opening party from 5-9 p.m. with a live band and merriment.
General manager Rick Barach says he wants to thank customers who have already visited the place and welcome those who have not yet walked through the doors.
“We couldn’t be any happier at how things have progressed so far,” Barach said. “We’ve seen a lot of families come in, a lot of couples, a lot of sports fans. It’s been more than we ever imagined.”
The Tempe, Ariz.-based chain of upscale sports bars is known for its roomy space, extensive menu of top-shelf versions of bar favorites such as wings, burgers and pizza, and its dazzling roster of Kilt Girls, the kilt-clad servers (there are Kilt Guys, too) who take time to chat up customers and make everyone feel welcome.
The 6,000-square-foot facility on Hayes at Hall Road also has 56 television monitors, 27-plus draught beers, and several traditional Irish dishes.
The place has been busy since the day it opened in January and shows no signs of slowing down. The action will ramp up further on St. Patrick’s Day when they roll out a heated outdoor tent, DJ and live entertainment from the folk band Shillelaghs & Shenanigans, a bagpiper, and disc jockeys.
