“We’ve had fantastic attendance for the qualification matches leading up to the World Cup,” said chapter president Stephen Cook, “and we want to see even bigger crowds for the World Cup games themselves. Of course we’d all love to be in Brazil, but the next best thing is to watch all the action with other people who love the game and support the Red, White and Blue.”
On June 16 at 6 p.m. the United States will play its first of three matches against the other members of Group G, facing Ghana in Natal, Brazil. On June 22 at 6 p.m., they face Portugal in Manaus, Brazil and finish group play with Germany on June 26 at 12:00 p.m. The first match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup will feature host country Brazil against Croatia on June 12. The final match, which drew a televised audience of 700 million in 2010, will be played on July 13.
The Tilted Kilt is located at 13851 South Tamiami Trail in South Fort Myers, located in the old Dwyers building. During the matches, there will be raffles and giveaways for fans in attendance. Membership in the American Outlaws is not required to attend; all supporters of the U.S. are encouraged to come cheer their team to victory.
